Meet Jane

Hello! My name is Jane Keptner, and I am a Clinical Social Worker, licensed in both New York (LCSW) and in Washington State (LICSW). Indigo Fern Therapy is my private mental health counseling practice. I work with individual adults who are interested in bettering their emotional health and well-being. I address a wide range of issues with my clients, but my areas of focus tend to be trauma, anxiety, depression, issues related to infertility, and relationship concerns. I primarily use a treatment model called Internal Family Systems (more on that here), which has helped lots of clients understand their symptoms and heal from traumatic wounds.

My Beliefs About Therapy

I believe that everyone has all the inner resources they will ever need to figure out their best path forward in life.

Sometimes it can feel like you have no idea how to get unstuck or what you really want for yourself. But through our work together, I can help with creating a safe space where a lot of these tough questions can suddenly (or gradually) become clear.

As a therapist, I don't see myself as someone who "fixes" people or gives advice. Instead, I see myself as a welcoming presence who can offer a fresh perspective.

I am also someone who can ask open-ended questions that can allow you to get in touch with the internal parts of you that have needed to be heard for so long.

By building healthier connections between you and these parts, what will emerge is a more confident, compassionate Self-led individual.
